Select the inventory tab (4 Boxes tab). Add products one at a time through the inventory menu or via a CSV file. Trial accounts are limited to 256 items; accounts with at least one active cashier are limited to 1024 items. To access more than 1024 inventory items, a $10 fee applies.
Next, access the Manage POS page (use store-front icon). Here you can add cashiers and branches.
To create a cashier, you need their name and cashier ID (visible on receipts). Optionally, you can request their phone number.
After creating a cashier, note their access code. This code is used to access the selling page and can be changed on the cashier page.
For countries with Shoppal Marketplace, you can add products to a catalog for advertising. This feature is in beta and will roll out to more countries. Shoppal advertising is free.
If you have more than one branch, adding branches is easy. Use your branch address and town. Note that Shoppal manages branches by city and address.
Allocate each cashier to the appropriate branch if you have multiple branches.
Cashiers can optionally upload their profile photos.
Selling
To start selling, switch to POS mode via the Manage POS page in the back office.
Your account password is required to switch back to the back office.
While selling by mobile phone is supported, we recommend using at least a 10โ tablet. Tablets allow cashiers to process transactions more quickly since they can view the edit receipt section.
In POS mode, you have options for settings and home.
A generic Bluetooth thermal printer (58-88 mm) can be paired with the device.
On the home screen, all cashiers will be displayed until the POS device is paired to a particular branch.
To sell an item, select products from the product picker. Estimated stock values will be updated.
Cashiers can refresh inventory to get the latest updates from the database. The device will continue to sell even offline.
At the end of the day, the cashier should run a cashing-up report to compare the amount of cash at hand.
